Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Equity & Implementation Science

The UC Berkeley Sutter Health Research Fellowship in Health Equity & Implementation Science brings together research mentors, trainees, and clinical and community members from diverse disciplines to form multidisciplinary teams with a shared commitment to health equity, innovation, and implementation and dissemination research. The fellows collaborate with UC Berkeley faculty and Sutter Health Center for Health Systems Research (CHSR) researchers in Walnut Creek and Palo Alto to generate new research evidence to improve health equity and drive innovation in care delivery. An executive committee, including UC Berkeley faculty, Sutter Health executive leadership, and CHSR researchers, governs the fellowship program.

The postdoctoral fellowship provides early-stage investigators with the opportunity to conduct innovative research focused on improving health equity, understand and address the social determinants of health, and contribute to operational and strategic changes within the Sutter Health system. The fellowship emphasizes using dissemination and implementation research methods to address health disparities within the Sutter Health system. Fellows receive joint mentorship from UC Berkeley faculty and Sutter Health researchers. The postdoctoral employee position is renewable for a second year, contingent on satisfactory performance. The position comes with a competitive salary, benefits, and support for training-related expenses, including courses in implementation science.
